Layla's Locks is the brainchild of DJ/ dancer/ costume fanatic Layla Dudley of Eugene, Oregon. Inspired by a hair fall given to her by her Tribalation! troupemate Joy, Layla immediately saw the possibilities of this simple design. She began creating her own falls from yarn and synthetic hair, and quickly expanded her design experiments to include materials such as hemp, beads, feathers, fabric, flowers, bells and even pipe cleaners. Her original designs are inspired by tribal style bellydance, the rave and club scene, and the colors and textures of nature.

As Layla's work has evolved and expanded over the past year, she now seeks to design hair falls that represent aspects of the inner-self of the wearer. As a designer, she enjoys an artistic challenge creating hair to represent role playing characters, the seven chakras, and even power animals. She has been sought after by dancers, SCA participants, festival-goers, and the University of Oregon Theatre Department for both her realistic and whimsical styles.

Layla has been involved in dance performance in various genres for more than a decade and understands the needs of dancers. As a DJ and partygoer, she also understands the need to look and feel fabulous for that special night on the town. Layla knows that playing dress up doesn't end when you grow up and hopes her unique hair adornments help their wearers discover a sense of play and imagination within themselves!
